Every scientist starts with curiosity — and mushrooms are full of surprises! In this hands-on workshop, kids become fungi detectives, using their eyes, hands, and noses to explore real mushrooms up close. We'll talk about how mushrooms grow, where they like to live, and what makes them so different from plants. Each little scientist will start their own mushroom sample to take home and watch grow over the coming days. Simple questions, real observation, and plenty of squishy, sniffy fun — this is where the scientific method begins. We will meet at the Prescott Community Center and then explore the fields on the back lawn or nearby for mushrooms, if the weather permits. Caregivers are encouraged to join the young kids for the experience and fun.
