Snapology: Winter Holiday Robotics Workshop - Ages 6-12GDRSD Early Release ProgramsThis program invites students to celebrate the winter holidays through hands-on robotics activities. Participants design, build, and program holiday-themed robots—such as moving snowmen, festive vehicles, and other creative seasonal creations—using LEGO® and robotics tools. Throughout the program, students experiment with building and coding techniques, test their robots, and refine their designs, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Activities blend STEM learning with imaginative play, making engineering and programming concepts engaging and accessible to young learners. Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized as students share ideas, work together on projects, and help each other bring their festive robots to life. By blending hands-on robotics with holiday-themed fun, the Winter Holiday Robotics Workshop provides an interactive and educational experience that sparks curiosity, confidence, and a love for STEM learning. The class requires a minimum of 10 students two days before the class date. Please register earlier so you won't miss the fun! Please bring a full water bottle and nut-free snack. In this interactive 2-hour workshop, adult and children team up to take on Snapology’s favorite robotics challenges. Using LEGO® bricks, motors, and sensors, you will collaborate to design, build, and bring your own creations to life—from motorized creatures to fierce battle bots. No prior coding or engineering experience is needed. This event is all about spending quality time together while experimenting with movement, testing creative designs, and solving fun challenges side-by-side. Evening Highlights: Team Design & Build: Parent-child teams work together to construct custom robots using LEGO® motorized components. Hands-On Robotics: Learn basic programming concepts, sensor logic, and mechanical movement in an accessible format. Friendly Challenges: Put your creations to the test in fun arena challenges and interactive games. Quality Connection: A relaxed, fun environment designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Prerequisites: None—just bring your creativity and teamwork! $30 per person This is a family program.
