Every attendee leaves this program with a homemade mushroom grow kit made from recycled materials — and the science to understand exactly what is happening inside it. In this 45–60 minute program, we explore the anatomy of a mushroom, the full lifecycle of a fungus from spore to fruiting body and back again, and the remarkable role mycelium plays in forest ecosystems. The hands-on inoculation at the end brings the science to life: using cardboard or spent coffee grounds, attendees build their own kit and leave ready to grow. No prior science background needed. Just curiosity. Every attendee will receive a Grow Kit made of recycled materials.
