Learn to Play PickleballSportPickleball is social and fun! This class is geared for the player who wants to learn the game and all of its rules. Each week, the focus will shift to a different element of the game. During each class there will be instruction, player development skills & drills and game play. You are expected to attend the entire session. The instructor provides the pickleball racquets and balls. Students may choose to bring their own.This program takes place at the Groton Country Club courts. Kids Early Release Pickleball - Ages 6-9GDRSD Early Release ProgramsKids will learn the basics, essential skills, and game rules through fun, age-appropriate instruction. Participants can play with friends or be grouped with others of a similar age and skill level. Whether they're new to pickleball or ready to improve their game, this program offers a fun and welcoming way to learn, play, and make new friends. The instructor will provide the paddles. Bring your own paddle, if you have one. Kids must wear sneakers, bring water and a nut-freee snack. No sandals or flip-flops allowed. Pickleball: Stroke of the WeekSportThis Pickleball class is designed for players who have already learned the game and want to improve their skills. Topics include: Week 1, Sep 14 & 16: Serves, Scoring, Footwork, and Coached Match PlayWeek 2, Sep 21 & 23: Better Returns, 3rd shot drops, slice options, and Coached Match PlayWeek 3, Oct 5 & 7: Volleys, Overheads, Lobs and Coached Match PlayWeek 4, Oct 19 & Oct 21: Player’s Choice and Coached Match Play Students are required to attend all classes of the session. Learn to Play Adult TennisSportLearn to Play Tennis 101 is a one-hour class held weekly for three consecutive weeks. Designed for beginner players, this program introduces the fundamental skills needed to enjoy tennis. Participants will learn the forehand, backhand, volley, and serve through fun, engaging drills and activities. Each class builds on the skills learned in the previous session, helping players build confidence and consistency while getting plenty of practice time. Each class builds on the skills learned in the previous session, helping players build confidence and consistency while getting plenty of practice time. By the end of the program, players will have a solid foundation and be ready to rally and begin playing with others. The instructor provides the pickleball paddle and balls and will provide junior sized tennis racquets.Students may choose to bring their own paddle and racquet. The program is designed for beginners and intermediate beginners. Participants must attend all three classes in a session. The instructor will provide the rackets. Bring your own racket if you have one.Kids must wear tennis or court sneakers and bring water. No sandals or flip-flops allowed. The class will be held at the Groton Country Club tennis court.
