Grab your friends and family for a festive evening of cookie decorating! Perfect for beginners and intermediate decorators alike, this class covers the basics of royal icing, including outlining, flooding, and “wet on wet” techniques with multiple holiday colors. Start on a practice sheet, then decorate your own holiday- and winter-themed cookies. All materials, cookies, and frostings are provided—just show up and enjoy the fun! Each student will leave with six beautifully decorated cookies and a recipe to try their new skills at home. Cookies are baked in a residential kitchen that handles milk, egg, soy, wheat, tree nut, peanut, and fish ingredients. This creative movement class empowers little ones to explore their creative voices through movement games, obstacle courses, storytelling, rhythm/music, and more. This class is usually most enjoyed by children ages 3-5, though children 2.5-3 with a strong sense of independence are welcome. Watt Phnom Serei, established on June 26, 2019, is a functioning Buddhist sanctuary serving the local Cambodian-American community. The temple acts as a vital cultural hub in the Ayer/Groton area, offering a tranquil setting for worship, ancestral ceremonies, and traditional community gatherings. Hands-on cupcake decorating class for adults and teens 15+! Each person will craft Halloween designs on six pre-baked cupcakes using colorful frosting, piping bags, and festive toppings. The instructor will teach simple decorating techniques step by step, such as frosting swirls and simple Halloween designs. Focusing on creativity, confidence, and enjoyment, the session requires no prior baking or decorating experience. This seminar will review and analyze U.S. Supreme Court decisions in the most recent term, including cases involving Presidential control of administrative agencies and birthright citizenship. We will also examine cases on the docket for the upcoming term, including a case that challenges Chicago's attempt to limit possession of AK-15 rifles. It will be helpful that participants read a few legal briefs (or excerpts) and articles in preparation for each session. This Fall enrichment course is centered on Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), the world’s most popular tabletop role-playing game and a member of the National Toy Hall of Fame. D&D is a collaborative storytelling game set in a fantasy world where players face challenging puzzles, mysteries, and dangerous monsters - all while creating an original, unfolding heroic tale! Players develop original characters who learn and grow from their choices, becoming heroes by overcoming challenges together. This program uses D&D as an educational tool to develop critical thinking, creative writing, teamwork, leadership, mathematical skills, and social-emotional learning in a structured, inclusive classroom environment. Please bring a nut-free snack and full water bottle. You are welcome to bring dice, pencil and paper, and any Dungeons & Dragons books you would like to bring. Discover the remarkable life of Eliza Lucas Pinckney, an 18th-century woman whose curiosity, determination, and love of learning helped shape colonial South Carolina. A pioneering agriculturalist and accomplished scholar, Pinckney experimented with plants and crops—including indigo, which became an important part of the region’s economy. This presentation explores her achievements, challenges, and lasting legacy as a woman who made an extraordinary impact when opportunities for women were limited. Groton resident Nancy Muller, PhD, MBA, will present the story of this remarkably capable and well-educated trailblazer. A long-time resident of Charleston, South Carolina, where Eliza Lucas Pinckney lived, Dr. Muller is a retired professor from the College of Charleston. She is a graduate of Duke University, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Graduate Business Administration, and VCU’s Medical University of Virginia.
