Tiny Friends Club: Play, Explore, and Build Friendships - Ages 3-5Summer Fun ProgramsTiny Friends Club is a playful, engaging program for children ages 3–5 that blends early learning with lots of fun. Through stories, hands-on activities, and guided play, children will explore foundational math and literacy skills in a warm, supportive environment. Each session encourages curiosity, creativity, and social connection. Children will practice sharing, taking turns, and building friendships through games, imaginative play, and simple learning activities. Traditional Martial Arts: Shotokan KarateSportDoshi-Kai Karate Club, Inc. has been teaching traditional martial arts in Acton, Massachusetts, and the greater Boston area since 1984, and prides itself on teaching all our students in a focused yet friendly environment. Doshi-Kai offers karate classes for men, women, and youths aged 14 and above. The classes are open to all ranks. No experience needed! Doshi-Kai was founded by Nago Matsuyama Sensei in Boston in 1984 and has long been a leader in the Massachusetts traditional martial arts landscape. Classes at Doshi-Kai are structured to be filled with learning, encouragement, hard work, and enjoyment for all of its students. Adult classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and we have Saturday classes from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. You may join all practice sessions with a monthly fee. On the last Tuesday of every month, Bo staff training is taught. In addition, basic throwing and pinning techniques are taught monthly, the combination of both intended to provide greater depth of understanding in karate. Walking Tour: Estates of Farmers RowHistory & CultureA century ago, Farmers Row was one of New England’s most prestigious streets. See the grand estates that define this distinguished road and hear about their colorful occupants on this walking tour. The distance is a little over half a mile, so the total walk is a bit over a mile. We travel at a moderate pace. We will meet at the Groton Fire Department parking lot. While children are welcome to attend, these are history tours that involve walking, standing, and listening for 8-10 minute intervals at each stop. Please plan accordingly. **Registration is required to attend. Watercolor Painting StudioPaintingThis course will help students execute paintings of their own subject matter. Guidance and critique from the teacher will focus on composition, color mixing, value and technique. Students will use photos to develop their own painting style. Yoga Foundations: Gentle Flow for All LevelsYogaThis calming, beginner-friendly class focuses on relaxation, foundational poses, and mindful breathing. We will move from the floor to standing and back, incorporate props to aid with alignment, and always remember to trust yourself first in every pose. We begin and end each class with a meditation practice and stillness. The participants must be able to kneel and rise from the floor without assistance.Please bring your yoga mat and water if needed. Yoga FusionYogaYoga Fusion is a Hatha type of yoga with focus on alignment, balance and breathing techniques in a slower paced flow than a vinyasa class. I generally include postures with longer holds from Yin yoga which makes it a fusion of Yin and Yang disciplines. I will incorporate music and poetry to enhance our shared experience together and strive to offer many options and accommodations for every body- I do believe yoga is for everyone! Wednesday classes are in-person at Prescott and Friday classes are online. *Registration prior to class is required.
